Cross Country All-District recognition

Yep. You read the headline correctly. In order to better recognize and promote the sport, District 29-4A head coaches unanimously voted to honor the top varsity boys and top varsity girls according to their time recorded during the district’s meet.
Those that finish in spots one-through-five receive the distinction of being Unanimous All-District while those in places six-through-ten earn All-District. There are no first or second teams and no honorable mentions.
The Arabians ran off with six of those 10 spots with their dominance at last Wednesday’s meet. Unanimous All-District recipients were Bri Bowyer (the District Champion), Espi Mendoza (4th), and Brooke Runyan (5th). All-District went to freshman Kristina Moralez.
Xavier Garza was the lone Warhorse to earn the honor of Unanimous All-District. Xavier finished 5th place to qualify for Regional.
Classroom recognition
Something else new to our district is varsity participant’s ability to earn Academic All-District recognition based solely on their work in the classroom. Academic All-District rewards a runner who achieves a 92.5 GPA in all classes for the first two six-weeks of school. Any runner regardless of order of finish at the district meet is eligible for this honor.
This recognition is announced after the conclusion of this six-week grading period, which is over on November 8.
