Consuelo R. Alvarado, 91, went to be with the Lord & Savior October 9, 2020; surrounded by her loving family in San Antonio, Texas.
She was born December 28, 1928 in Devine, Texas. Consuelo fell in love & married Ramon Alvarado on April 15, 1950 and treasured 30 years together. Being a long-time resident of Devine, she was very involved with the St. Joseph Catholic Church helping with Christian Mothers, a member of the Society of Guadalupanas, Treasurer & a Gold Circle member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW and volunteered with the Devine Hospice Thrift Store.
She is survived by her children: Rebecca Flores, George Alvarado (Debbie), Tony Alvarado, Raul Alvarado (Margaret), Joe Alvarado (Patricia), Mike Alvarado, Christina Vasquez (Emilio), Patricia Alvarado (Robert Garza), Isabel Lopez-Dillard (Robert)& Shirley Alvarado. Consuelo also leaves behind a legacy of 51 Grandchildren & 33 Great Grandchildren. Her sibling Enrique Rodriguez, Estella Sanchez, Reymundo Rodriguez & numerous nieces & nephews.
Consuelo is preceded in death by her husband Ramon H. Alvarado; parents Matiaña & Ramon Rodriguez; sisters Herlinda Rodriguez, Elvira Aguiñaga, Sara Ornelas; brothers Fidel Rodriguez, Lazaro “Larry” Rodriguez & great-grandson Antonio Flores.
The family received guests at Hurley Funeral Home on Thursday, October 15, 2020 beginning at 3pm. Rosary wase recited at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 10am with a Rite of Committal following at St. Joseph Cemetery.
