A plan to replace water meters throughout Devine is one step closer to reality after the Devine City Council voted to publish a notice of intention to issue $1.1 million in Certificates of Obligation to fund the project at a Special meeting held last Tuesday, March 5.

$13.9 million bond election would double I&S side of tax rate to pay for construction, election May 4

Current traffic flow. Buses on left. Exit from high school parking lot in the center 2 lanes. Student entrance to the high school is on the right. Proposed draft has the buses entering on FM 2200 instead and exiting the center lane(s) onto Hwy 173. The student drop off and pick up would be on the left where the buses currently use. And all high school students would be funneled out by way of the DSAC and Middle School onto FM 2200. If the current speed bumps were left in place the buses would have to go over at least 7 or 8 speed bumps daily.

Architects presented the first drafts of the proposed $13.9 million bond project to Devine ISD campus site based committees the week of February 28 and to the school board on February 25.
