Calame Store to re-open this week

Owner Sherman Lowry Calame and his fiancee Hannah Reider.

The original Calame Store will re-open this Sunday, September 1 on County Road 5710 just outside Devine.
Owner Sherman Lowry Calame is the great-great-grandson of Calame Store’s original owners Willie Eugene and Pauline Calame, who traveled from Oklahoma to Devine in the mid 1930’s when The Dust Bowl turned their farm into a desert.
The convenience store will offer sodas, candy, snacks, coffee, snow cones, and ice. Calame also sells and repairs firearms in the store.
