Skilled Trades professional volunteers are the backbone of our repair efforts, providing technical know-how with everything from roofing to plumbing, assessment to planning.
Volunteer Helpers- Of all sorts and sizes
Service Volunteers step in when there are large projects that require a comparatively little experience. Examples include cleaning, painting, landscaping, moving furniture and appliances, etc.

2024 Reading Challenge kicks off

This year’s summer reading challenge begins on Monday, June 3rd and is open to participants ages 5 yrs. through 18 yrs. Logs and rules may be picked up at the circulation desk in the library during normal operating hours of 10 am – 6 pm.
All logs are time based and will require that kids read 300 minutes (5hrs) per log. With each completed log they will receive a ticket they can place in the drawing for the prize they want to win. Prize packages are on display in the library throughout the summer.

Lytle ISD approves 4% raises

The Lytle School Board held its regular meeting, May 20, 2024 at 6:00 P.M, taking action on several important agenda items including a 4% raise for employees.
Board members Jeremy Davenport, Bobby Duty, LeAnna Mask, Alan Brown, Bobby Sollock, Reagan Wagner were the 6 board members in attendance this evening.
Board votes for 4% raise
The Board concluded the meeting on a newsworthy note by going back to the agenda item regarding the compensation plan, which resulted in approving a 4% raise for all Lytle ISD employees.

Devine may close Oak Hill Drive to big rig parking

A proposal to close Oak Hill Drive near Wal-Mart to overnight truck traffic is under consideration by the Devine City Council in view of ongoing street damage and concerns about traffic safety.
Council newcomer Jeff Miller, representing district three, said that trying to exit the Wal-Mart parking lot “makes for a very tricky left hand turn when you have those trucks jockeying over there,” referring to 18-wheelers traffic.
