Hosting its second co-op track invitational of the 2021 season, the Devine Arabians and Warhorses claimed their second team championships on their home surface last Friday evening. The Arabians topped second place Pleasanton 223-182 while the Warhorses sprinted past Natalia 197-168.
“The competition was good and more plentiful than the last meet as far as number of participants in each event,” said Head Coach Lon Cozby. “Over the course of the next few weeks we will see some of the same schools multiple times, but it will help gauge our improvement as well.”
In the co-op are schools from Jourdanton, Pleasanton, Natalia, Poteet, Dilley, Cotulla, and Hondo which Devine will square off against from week to week in the regular season.
Once Devine hits district competition, it will compete against Somerset, YMLA, YWLA, Brooks Academy, and Fox Tech.
