The Arabians stumbled against La Vernia on Tuesday but then turned on the overdrive to beat Marion on Friday. Now 7-5 for the season, the Arabians have just two weeks to get everything worked out to take on a tough district. They will play in Hondo Friday, at home Tuesday against Antonian and on Friday Fredericksburg. On September 22nd, they open district against Somerset.
September 1st against La Vernia, Devine had a rough night. “We just did not have a good night. Our chemistry seemed off and we just couldn’t make many plays. It was just one of those nights where nothing was going our way. But we did learn what to expect if we want to go far in the playoffs and make a run at regionals.” Coach Leigh Anne McIver The Arabians lost 16-25, 9-25, and 11-25.

The Arabians were a different team on Friday night when they played Marion. “I thought we came up with much better intensity and focus then we did on Tuesday. We can still clean up our play a little. We did a good job of staying focused, even when the ball did not cross the net several points in a row.” Devine quickly took the first two sets at 25-16 and 25-15, however Marion had a slight run in the third set but still lost 25-16.
