Arabians control Stockdale

Set to play Falls City, the Arabians faced Stockdale instead. The change of opponent did not phase the Arabians and they took the game 69-21. With this being their first game of the season, Devine was ready and took control from the tip-off. Under the leadership of Coach Jim Sessions, the Arabians are going to be a powerful team once again this season.
Forcing turnovers and fighting for every loose ball, the Arabians held Stockdale scoreless in the first quarter at 21-0. They were able to hold Stockdale to 10 points or less each quarter to take the win 602-21.
“It was good to be able to get on the court and finally start the season. The girls were really excited about the game and they came out on fire in the first quarter. We did a great job of forcing Stockdale into turnovers and tough shots. That led to some easy opportunities in transition for us. We did a great job of sharing the ball and working it around on the offensive end to get some open shots in the half court. I was really pleased with the way the team played together as a group. We are still trying to figure out roles on this team, but we had lots of kids contribute to the win so that’s a plus. We were still missing some of the volleyball girls so we will have a few new additions for this upcoming week. I am really looking forward to seeing what this group can accomplish this season. We will find out a lot this week as we host Lytle and then play in the Southside Tournament,” said Coach Sessions.
