Arabians and Warhorse track at Medina Valley Invitational

Seventeen teams comprised this year’s Medina Valley Panther Relays. Needless to say, that is a lot of teams consisting of many competitors that allowed the Devine Warhorse and Arabian track athletes to compete against some of the better athletes in the San Antonio area.
“This was a very large meet, and competitive in many aspects,” stated Head Coach Khera Vay. “As a coaching staff, we were impressed with the determination of the kids, especially after some nasty weather set in and it was extremely late. The kids hit some good marks again for this early in the season and we feel we are on the right track to meeting our goals of district and area champions, which translates into a large number of kids participating at the regional meet with shots at going to state. We will travel to Bandera this Saturday and hopefully with a great week of workout the athletes can improve upon their times and marks and keep moving forward.”
Arabian standout performances included a 1st place finish for Analea Brooks in Discus, a 2nd place finish by Bri Bowyer in Pole Vault, and 3rd place finishes by Mari Murillo in the 3200m and Alissa Stehle in Triple Jump.
Warhorse standout performances included Guido Zapata’s 1st place finish in the 110m Hurdles and a 2nd place finish in the 300m Hurdles. The Shot Put tandem of Tanner Hardcastle and Tristan Ortiz while Dakota Wofford took 3rd in Discus. Aaron Terrazas, Donavon Camacho, Grant Collins, and Xsavior Martinez took home the gold in the 4x200m Relay while Terrazas, Camacho, and Collins teamed with Zapata to take the silver in the 4x100m Relay.
