Arabian golf claims 5th at Pleasanton Invitational

With Devine’s full Arabian golf team now playing, the outlook on a successful season is beginning to take shape. The Arabians shot a team score of 447, good enough for a 5th place finish. Pleasanton claimed the championship by shooting a 386, a score that the Arabians will work towards as the season moves toward the district dates of April 9 and 10.
Making it to the Regional Tournament last year was a great achievement for our team, but that was last year. This team is out working for a district championship and a chance to move up the standings in Corpus Christi if we are fortunate enough to get back to Regionals.
Our top three golfers are returning this season in Kayla Busby, Shelby Spivey, and Preslee Quisenberry. Allyson Long, Lillie Weyel, and Paige Williamson will compete to see who our number 4 and number 5 players will be. As the season progresses, each of the players will perform more consistently and scores should lower as we inch toward district.
In Pleasanton, Busby narrowly missed having a 90’s round finishing one stroke off with a 100. Quisenberry shot a 108 followed closely by Spivey who scored a 111. Weyel (128), Long (132), and Williamson (133) rounded out the Arabian’s scoresheet.
