Cold weather and golf is not all it is cracked up to be. The Devine Arabian golf team played in the NorthsideISD Tournament at the Republic Golf Course last Monday morning. After an hour and a half delay to the planned start time due to frost on the grass and sub-40 degree temperature, the Arabians competed well early but faltered on the back nine as the tournament drew to an end.
Kayla Busby led the Arabians with a 108 while Shelby Spivey shot a 119 and Hannah Blackwell shot a 128. Lillie Weyel completed the first nine holes but was unable to continue due to illness.
The Arabians take their second shot of the season at Pleasanton Country Club next Tuesday, February 20. Tee time is 8:30am.
