Alvarez, Andrade lead Pirate XC; JV Pirates team champions at Randolph

The Lytle JV boys won the Randolph XC meet.

Lytle varsity Cross Country runners Johnny Rey Alvarez and Israel Andrade competed in the Universal City Randolph Ro-Hawk Pre-District Preview last Saturday in San Antonio. Alvarez ran a 17:44 three-mile time to place 5th overall, while Andrade placed 8th with a 17:47.
The JV squad easily ran away with their division scoring 34 points for the team championship. Poteet was runner up and had 63 points.
Jared Aguinaga paced the Pirates placing 4th with an 18:23. Yandel Esquivez was 6th with a 19-minute flat and Donovan Cortez finished at 19:30 which was good for 7th place.
Faustino Ruiz (8th-19:38), Tristan Lopez (9th- 19:41), Aaron Martinez (18th-21:20), and Aiden Zimmerlie (26th-22:04) also competed for the JV team champions.

1st Lytle 34, 2nd Poteet 63, 3rd Great Hearts Northern Oaks, 4th Geronimo Navarro 87, 5th Universal City Randolph 104, 6th San Antonio Fox Tech 138.
