8th grade Lady Mustangs face Cotulla, Dilley

The 8th grade Lady Mustangs A and B teams swept Cotulla’s A and B teams in their season opener on September 29th. They only had three days of practice before this game but that did not stop the B team from winning 25-18 and 25-13. The A team won 25-6 and 25-17. The 8th grade teams are coached by Coach Tiffany Balencia.
These wins are a great start for the Lady Mustangs this season. They will travel to Lytle on September 16th and then to Devine for a tournament on September 21st.
A Team sweeps Dilley
The 8th grade Lady Mustangs’ A team beat Dilley in their second game of the season. Coach Tiffany Balencia’s team won their first set 25-14 and then 25-17 in their second to seal the win. Angie Solis was the team’s top server.
This Saturday the A team will head to Devine for the Middle School tournament. The 8th grade team’s pool play will play in court 1 in the DSAC starting at 9:00am. Bracket play starts at 12:00pm for the 8th grade.
B Team work hard against Dilley
In only their second game of the season, the 8th grade Lady Mustangs’ B team lost to Dilley 19-23 and 23-24. In this time game, the Lady Mustangs worked hard to keep up with the Wolves but were just a few points shy each set. Brianna Rizo was the top server for the team.
The B team will head to Lytle next Monday and then host Jourdanton at home September 23rd.
