7th grade Lady Mustangs take on Cotulla, Dilley

In their first game of the season, the Natalia’s 7th grade A and B teams faced Cotulla and ended with a tie and a win. These players only had three practices before their game and it was their determination to win that helped them succeed. The 7th grade teams are coached by Coach Jasmine Vasquez.
The 7th grade A team won in two sets against Cotulla at 25-21 and 25-12. The B team played sets capped to 15 minutes each and won their first set 24-21 but fell short in the second at 18-24.
The Jr High Lady Mustangs will play again on September 16th against Lytle and then again on Saturday September 21st in the Devine Tournament.
Dilley
The 7th Grade Lady Mustangs’ A team made quick work against Dilley on September 9th. Winning 25-16 and 25-13, the Lady Mustangs proved that hard work in practice pays off in the game. This was only Coach Jasmine Vasquez’s team’s second game this season and it was a great win! Anaya Jones and Abigail Fulton were the top servers.
The 7th grade A team will head to Devine this Saturday for a tournament and their first game will be at 9:00 am in the high school gym.
B Team splits win
The 7th grade Lady Mustangs B team faced Dilley and played timed sets. Dilley won the first set 21-24 but Natalia fought back and won the second set 15-13. The second set was a win due to much better passing and communication between the players. Syrene Gallegos was the top server for the Lady Mustangs.
The Lady Mustangs will head to Lytle Monday and then Jourdanton will face Natalia at home September 23rd.
