7th grade Fillys earn split with Lytle

The 7th grade volleyball teams played Lytle on Oct. 16 to continue their District season.
“We are going to keep working and prepare for Pearsall after a win and loss by the teams,” Coach Megan Perez said.
Fillys Gold vs. Lytle
Offensively the girls had 12 aces; Leah R. 5, Yesenia A. 4, Andrea R., Joselyn G., and Karsyn B. each with 1. They had 7 hits; Emily S. 1, Autumn O., Emily S., Sierra B., and Joselyn each with 1. The only girl to assist was Andrea with 2. There was one kill made by Autumn.
Defensively they had one block by Autumn and one dig by Emily.
“The girls lost a hard-fought battle in three games to Lytle,” Coach Perez said. “They showed moments of greatness but weren’t consistent enough to take away the win.”

Offensively these girls had 8 aces; Neenah G. and Avery C. each with 3, and Amber D. and Korynn A. each with 1. They also scored 12 hits; Korynn led with 7, followed by Bailey O. and Madison C. each with 2, and Cameron H. with 1. There was one assist made by Kristina M.
Defensviley there was one block by Zoe G. and one dig by Avery.
“The girls did a great job working together to come out with a win,” Coach Perez said. “We still need to work on communication and serving consistently as those two aspects are things we struggle with.”
