Maroon Team
The 7th Grade Maroon team went into Poteet on Monday still thinking about the 3rd place finish in the La Vernia Tournament. They were proud of that success, but were eager to prove themselves even more. The girls came out ready to play. After a few missed serves early, they buckled down and took the lead. Solid passing was a real key to the game’s success. The Fillys took the first set 25-17. After fighting off Poteet early on, aggressive front row plays by Maddie DuBose, Roxanne McKay, and Skylar Brown set the tone for the remainder of the game. Devine took the second set, winning 25-15.
Oakley Malone had 5 aces and 2 assists. Airyanna Rodriguez 4 aces. Brown 3 aces, 1 kill. DuBose 2 kills. McKey 2 aces, 2 kills.
