The 7th grade A team beat the Owls 22-6, and the B team shut out the Owls 12-0.
A Team: “It is hard to verbalize just proud I am of this group!” said Coach Quenton Sanders.”They have time and time again exceeded expectations all year. It was no different in our 22-6 win versus Hondo. Hondo was the bigger team size wise, but we had the bigger heart and the bigger fight. Evan Sanchez scored 3 touchdowns to lead the way on offense. No running back can succeed without great help from the O-line, and our line did great. On the D side of the ball Matt Gomez shined again with help from the linebackers Jaysen Ramirez and Joe Martinez. We are back on the road for the first time in a month to play at Crystal City. We must move on from the euphoria of beating Hondo, and get ready for a tough road test. I have a feeling we will be ready to bring the ruckus.”
B team: “It was a great effort by our B team guys,” Coach Sanders adds. “The whole team played with the attitude and emotions needed to beat our rivals. Defensively we brought the pain in the 12-0 shut-out. Ayden Leal played a great game at the rover position. He did exactly what he is coached to do. On the offensive side of the ball Jayden Reyes scored on a beautiful run up the gut. Victor Perez also found the end zone on a long run to end the 1st half.
