1,800 vaccines given last week, 900 given at Devine Community Center

“1,000 doses will be administered this week (March 15) in Medina County,” said Keith Lutz, Emergency Management Coordinator of Medina County. “This will be done through multiple agencies and locations. The Medina County Health Unit will be opening up a registry for 80 doses that will be administered Wednesday. As always check VACCINE.MEDINATX.ORG”.

Last Week’s VACCINE ALLOCATION UPDATE administered week of March 8, 2021.
Last week’s COVID-19 vaccine allocations went to the Medina County Health Unit with 1,000 vaccine doses of Moderna (a two dose shot series with the second dose due on or after 28 days); Medina Regional Hospital and Medical Clinic of Hondo with a combined allocation of 700 doses and God’s Country Pharmacy with 100 doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccine (a one dose shot).
Now Eligible To Be Vaccinated: School and Child Care Personnel
With the federal directive, the following education and child care personnel are now eligible to be vaccinated in Texas:
Those who work in pre-primary, primary, and secondary schools; Head Start and Early Head Start programs (including teachers, staff, and bus drivers); and those who work as or for licensed child care providers, including center-based and family care providers.
Medina County Vaccine Update: Week 14
12% of population over 16 vaccinated so far
Vaccine allocations are going to the Medina County Health Unit with 1,000 doses of Moderna. Additional allocations for the week are still being determined as Johnson & Johnson doses have not yet been assigned. Look to http://vaccine.medinatx.org for online vaccine registration for the Medina County Health Unit, Medina Regional Hospital and HEB locations. Per DSHS vaccine distribution can now be offered to Phase 1C: Persons age 50-64.

People fully vaccinated: 5,083
Total Population of 16 & older is 41,263 in Medina County. At this point, 12% of the population has been fully vaccinated. Thankfully larger vaccination shipments have been coming in recent couple of weeks.
