“The amount of money budgeted back in 2016-2017 is just not going to get you very far post-COVID,” Garcia said.
He told council members during a Nov. 21 meeting that the cost to complete all three phases has ballooned to…

I finally got a chance to visit “the cross at Kerrville.” Despite its awesomeness, I only heard of it a couple months ago. This 77 ft tall cross sculpture tops a beautiful hill and prayer garden along the highway in Kerrville and is the site of many miraculous events.
While I did not personally get adorned by the miraculous “golden dust” that so many have experienced at the cross, I did have a special experience on that hill.
Local man, Tim Dimmick of Devine, did report leaving that hill with “golden dust” on his shoulder. It was his words that first inspired me to go to the cross.
The “empty” cross…

Devine debates mowing Little League Park and adding to Parks & Rec System

By Anton Riecher
The Devine City Council voted to cast its 81 votes for former county commissioners Jerry Beck to represent the city as a member of the Medina County Appraisal District board of directors. The action made official the council’s previously announced decision to back Beck.
Add Little League to city parks
The council discussed at length a proposal by Cook for the city to take charge of mowing the city’s Little League Park in the off season as part of the city’s renewed contract with local Little League.
“I personally would like the Little League Park to be part of our parks and rec system because we do own it,” Cook said.
However, Ritchey…
