A fatal crash on I-35 last Tuesday, November 31 tragically claimed the life of Rocio Munoz, of Natalia. The accident occurred about 1 mile south of Lytle around 2:14 pm.
According to DPS reports, “A 2016 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer, driven by David Wayne Bearden, 59, of La Feria was traveling south and began to slow due to traffic slowing ahead of him. A 2015 Toyota Camry, driven by Rocio Aleene Munoz, 21 of Natalia was traveling behind the truck tractor and its trailer.”
“For reasons not yet known, Ms. Munoz struck the trailer portion from behind. She wasn’t wearing her safety belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing and all contributing factors are not yet known. The Texas Department of Public Safety would like to remind all drivers to obey traffic control devices, minimize distractions, always wear your safety belt and don’t exceed the speed limit. The completed crash report can be obtained for a fee at texas.gov once the investigation is over.”
