Young woman Hannah Wood is fighting in ICU

Family and friends have set up a fundraiser for Hannah Wood of Devine, 20, who was involved in the terrible automobile accident on Highway 173 which we reported on last week.
Ms. Wood is fighting a multitude of complications after her injuries led to a stroke on top of other things. She is recuperating in ICU at University Hospital in San Antonio from the stroke, internal injuries and a compound fracture according to family. She was moved to a step down Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on Monday, January 11.
The accident occurred on Saturday night, January 2, 2020, and she has been hospitalized ever since.
Her parents, Robby and Shannon Wood, are the only visitors allowed in the ICU. She is able to talk by phone with her grandparents and siblings occasionally with her parents help.
“They are by her side as she continues to be the tough girl we know and adore!” said Aunt Erin Blackerby. “We have faith that she will fully recover. Let’s chip in to make sure the financial component isn’t a burden.”
The community can show our support to the entire Lawler/Wood family by donating on go fund me or see Margaret Greehey or Meg Brown at Mags Place in Devine if you are using a check. A love fund has been set up at American Momentum Bank in Devine for Hannah Wood expenses.
“We are praying that the witty, fearless, and sensitive Hannah soon returns to the community she was born and raised in; to hunt more hogs, hug more kids, laugh with friends, and travel, and hang out with her siblings and family,” Blackerby adds.
Hannah has been working at Mag’s Place and Triple C recently so you might recognize this bright young lady from there.
The community and family members have truly stepped up to pray for and help the family and show Hannah how much she is loved and give her support and inspiration.
