Devine Warhorse junior Xavier Garza qualified for the State Cross Country Meet in Round Rock on Saturday, November 9 by running a 17:13 3-mile race to finish 16th overall out of 178 competitors at the Regional Meet in Corpus Christi.
Xavier took 5th place in District 29-4A two weeks ago finishing behind Braeden Cardenas of Carrizo Springs, Angel Rodriguez of Hondo, Zaine Leal of Pearsall, and Kutter Karns of Carrizo Springs.
Xavier conquered the course and three of those four district runners who finished ahead of him. Only Zaine from District 29-4A topped Xavier’s time at Regional with a 17:06, 10th place finish.
