William “Bill” L. Bippert

William “Bill” L. Bippert, of Castroville, passed away at his home on November 12, 2021 at the age of 71. He was born October 2, 1950 in Castroville, along with his twin brother Bob, to Clarence Charles Bippert and Martha Alma Wurzbach Bippert. Bill and Bob were the youngest in the family of six boys.
Bill grew up in Rio Medina on his family’s farm. In 1969, he graduated from Medina Valley High School. He attended Bee County Junior College and then Texas Lutheran College to earn his B.S. in Accounting. Bill played baseball at both colleges. During college, he worked in Seguin as a carpenter. After graduating, he was an accountant at Tesoro. He also worked at John Deere and Allis – Chalmers selling tractors. He was a car salesman at automobile dealerships in Hondo and Castroville and also sold ATV’s in Hondo. He eventually left his sales career to become a full-time farmer. He was also a faithful and dedicated volunteer for his church, Zion Lutheran.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Bippert of Castroville; children, Bryan Bippert of Natalia, Amy Bohensky (Michael) of Bronte, Texas, Brandon Bippert (Makenzie) of San Antonio, Clinton Bippert (Nikki) of Canada, Brett Bippert, and Emily Bippert of Castroville; grandchildren, Daisy Hoffman (Jacob), Bryan Bippert, Jr., Sadie Bippert, Analyn Bohensky, Katelyn Bohensky, Emalyn Bohensky, and Brooks Bippert; great-grandson, Orion Hoffman; twin brother, Bob Bippert; in-laws, Gaye Belcher (Donald), and Jacquelyn Bippert.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Martha Bippert; grandsons, Jase, Keegan, Kellen, and Drew Bippert; brothers, Nelson Bippert, Clarence Bippert, Melvin Bippert, and Thomas Bippert.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November19, 2021 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Castroville. Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Castroville.
A reception will follow services at Schattenbol at DeCock Farm, 2374 US Hwy 90 E, Castroville.
Memorials may be made in Bill’s memory to any Zion Lutheran Church fund, the Medina Valley Youth Baseball Association, or the charity of your choice.
