Devine’s Warhorse Cross Country teams competed in the Islander Invitational on the campus of Texas A&M Corpus Christi last Saturday morning and came away with a 12th place finish out of 37 teams competing. The Warhorses team score was 282 with Xavier Garza leading the Warhorses, finishing 31st of 304 competitors with a time of 17:09.43.
Following Garza were Chris Ortiz (55th, 17:45.92), Christian Osorio (65th, 17:52.69), Ismael Vera (75th, 18:02.47), Zackariuh Bocanegra (105th, 18:24.83), Weston Byrd (120th, 18:44.22), and Connor Radicke (133rd, 19:00.50).
La Feria won the team championship with 85 points, easily outdistancing themselves from runner up Port Aransas who had 154 and third place Bandera with 181. District foe Crystal City finished fourth with 226 points and Pearsall ranked 14th with 355.
