Warhorse golfers take 5th at Fredericksburg/Kerrville

The Devine Warhorse golf team finished with the unlucky 666 final score in the two-day Fredericksburg/Kerrville Golf tournament last Friday and Saturday. A first day team score of 331 at Fredericksburg and the second day score of 335 put Devine in the 5th place spot overall. Carson Tilley was the 3rd place medalist with a 151 final score (73/78).
“The final round number may not necessarily show it but we played pretty well for most of the holes,” said Head Golf Coach PJ Wells. “There were a couple of holes where their score ballooned a little bit, but overall, we competed well.”
Following the 151 shot by Tilley was Hunter Murphy167 (83/84), Noah Tumbarello 169 (85/84), Beau Cardenas 184 (90/94), and Brice Champion 193 (104/89).
First Place-Fredericksburg-626 (316/310), Second Place-Central Catholic-636 (322/314), Third Place-Liberty Hill-640 (323/317).
The Warhorses have a pre-district tournament in Devine on Monday, April 3rd followed by District on April 10th and 11th which is also held at the Devine Golf Course.
