The Devine Warhorse golf team played in a two-day tournament in Pleasanton last Friday and Saturday. The first day did not bode well for the Warhorses as they shot a 426 on Friday. Saturday was a different story however as Devine dropped 74 strokes off their round to shoot a more competitive 352.
Although there were some extenuating circumstances the first day that ballooned some of our individual scores, the players bounced back the second day to put in a Warhorse-type effort. Newcomer Brian Schaefer put a stamp on his first tournament with a second day 89 in only his second day as a Warhorse golfer. This was definitely the highlight out of the annual Pleasanton tournament.
Warhorse scores: Noah Tumbarello-98/84-182, Brandon Flues-88/94-182, Brian Schaefer-105/89-194, Ricky Gollrad-135/85-220, Charles DuBose-140-/134-274.
