Vicente Guevara passed away peacefully August 11, 2019, surrounded by his family. Mr. Guevara was born January 22, 1933 in Laredo, Tx, and moved to Natalia, Tx, in 1991.
He was a graduate of San Agustin High School in the Class of 1952 and served in the Texas Army National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elisa M. Guevara; daughter, Maria E. Guevara; parents, Ignacio M. and Norberta F. Guevara; and brother, Jorge I. Guevara.
He taught his children to dedicate themselves to hard work, family, and to have a strong belief in faith.
He is survived by his children, Maria C. “Connie” (Manuel Sr.) Perez, Vicente G. (Maria Elsa “Jeannie”) Guevara, Jose A. Guevara, Maria J. Guevara, Ignacio J. (Patricia “Tricia”) Guevara, and San Juanita “Janie” (Juan) Sanchez; grandchildren, Marissa A. (Ernest) Harlow, Manual Jr. (Melissa) Perez, Mary Grace (Jaquelyn) Perez, Amanda (Mario) Rodriguez, Andrew (Zulema) Barrera), Ignacio J. Guevara, Jr., Anthony J. Guevara, Christine Sanchez, and Juan Carlos Sanchez; and great-grandchildren Marisabella Faith Perez, Frank Lurati, Arianna Lurati, Christian Rodriguez, Brianna Rodriguez, Ashton Barrera, Drake Barrera, and Liam Barrera.
Also surviving are beloved family and friends.
A rosary followed by a burial Mass will be held on Saturday, August 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Devine, TX, at 9:00 am, followed by his ashes being buried on family property.
