Thelma “Penny” Viola, age 93 went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 in Austin, Texas. She was born on December 5, 1927 in McLoud, Oklahoma to parents, George E. and Alma (Harris) Pentecost.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Alma Pentecost; brother, Joseph Pentecost; sister, Nona Scrivano and daughter-in-law, Paula Viola.
Thelma was survived by her son, Chris Viola and wife, Valinda, grandchildren; Christopher Viola and wife, Rebecca; Valerie Huck and husband, Cory along with seven beautiful great-grandchildren, Garrett, Isabelle, Abigayle, Gabriel Viola and Faith, Dalton and Kayti Huck; sister, Mary Reid; brother, James Pentecost.
Thelma known as “Penny” grew up in Devine and graduated from Devine high school, then went on to Nursing school where she became a Registered Nurse and worked many years in the medical field. She enjoyed her Church family at the Laurel Heights Methodist Church, where she was involved with Super Singles, sung in the choir and played the bells. She loved playing Bridge and the Dallas Cowboys. Penny was also a Ballroom dancer who won many awards for her talent. She enjoyed her vegetable garden and pet companion Ana. She will be missed by many.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, 11:00 A.M. Hurley Funeral Home Chapel, Devine, Texas with interment to follow at Evergreen cemetery also in Devine.
