The Warhorses and Arabians finished their team tennis season as Bi-District champs this year after losing to Zapata on October 18th. The team had a great season winning 9 of their 12 meets this season and 1-1 in district. Coach Melanie Sostarich led her team to a great winning season.
“Our season ended sooner than we would have liked. Losing to Hondo for district put us in one of the toughest brackets having to play Zapata second round of the playoffs. We beat Pleasanton 16-3 earlier on, Pleasanton beat La Vernia and they were able to advance further simply because their bracket was not as tough as ours. That’s why it is so important to win that District title. We came close, we had a few bad breaks and Hondo was able to take advantage of it. However, I think our team will work harder now to take back the district title this spring.” Coach Sostarich
