Suspect pulls knife on victim outside local gas station

A man was lurking near the children’s shelter donation box outside Super Mart convenience store in Devine, this past February 5 around 10 pm when someone yelled at the suspect and asked him what he was doing.
“The suspect then turned and approached someone else’s vehicle wearing a skeleton mask, according the victim,” said Devine PD Lieutenant Chris Andrews. “The suspect reportedly struck the driver’s side door, and then reached into his backpack and pulled out a knife.”
A witness saw what was happening and dialed 9-1-1, and the suspect fled on foot as police were in route.
“Later the suspect returned to the store, and walked inside without the knife and mask, but he was wearing the same clothes.A 28-year-old male subject was arrested and taken to Medina County Jail on charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.”
“We recovered the backpack with the mask and knife, which had been hidden about a block away from the scene,” Lieutenant Andrews adds.
