This week St Joseph Catholic Church made the following announcement regarding keepsake stones from the beloved 98-year-old limestone rock church:
“As per the announcement made at mass last weekend, the demolition of the old church has been completed. The stones have been inventoried, cleaned and separated. Parishioners will be able to pick them up sometime in September for a donation. Dates, times and the location of the pick up will be announced in the bulletin. Some of the stones will also be used in the new prayer garden we are planning. In order to accommodate all requests, we will be limiting the number of stones to two per household. This will give everyone who would like to have some a chance to get some. If there are enough left over to offer more we will announce this later on.
Anyone from out of town who would like to make a donation and get a stone can mail a check to the parish office; 108 S. Washington Dr. Devine 78016. A receipt will be mailed back and you must make your own arrangements to pick up the stone or have someone pick it up for you. If you have any questions please call the parish office at 830-663-2244. Thank you for your cooperation. Have a blessed day.”
