SSGT Roy Lewis Clement, Jr., retired U.S. Air Force, of Hondo, passed away on September 8, 2018 in San Antonio at the age of 78 years. He was born March 18, 1940 in Syracuse, New York, one of three children of Roy Lewis Clement, Sr. and Delores May Bush Clement.
On December 12, 1970, Roy L. Clement, Jr. married MaryLou Taylor in Saginaw, Michigan. Roy and MaryLou were married for 47 years at the time of her death recently on August 11, 2018.
Roy served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, retiring after 20 years of service. After retiring from the military, Roy began his second as a civil service employee at Kelly Air Force Base, retiring after 24 years there.
Roy was an active member of the American Legion Weiss-Wurzbach Post 460, serving in several positions with the legion.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, MaryLou Clement.
Survivors include his daughter, Angela Marie Hung; son and daughter-in-law, Roy L. Clement, III and Melanie Marie of San Antonio; grandchildren, Zoey Clement and Zackery Clement; brother, Wayne (Bonnie) Clement of Kittitas, Washington and sister, Jane Wilcox of Margate, Florida.
The Funeral Service will be Friday, September 14, 2018 at 10:00 am at Medina Valley United Methodist Church in Castroville. Graveside Service with Full Military Honors will be at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 9:30 am.
