Selina O. “Peggy” Buckingham of Natalia, Texas, went to be with the Lord February 1, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 86. She was born to Thomas Ousby and Margaret Ann Douglas Ousby, on February 27, 1933 in Workington, England.
She is survived by her son, Terry Buckingham; sister Iris (Tucker) Milligan and Thomas, Millie McMullen; brother George Ousby, numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat Willie Nelson.
She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Margaret Ousby; brothers Herbert, Harold and Tommy; sisters Catherine, Jean and Edith.
Peggy served two years in the Army in England and then worked for the Department of Agriculture.
Peggy moved to the US in September, 1966 and to Natalia in 1969. She became a US citizen on April 27, 1977. She took her citizenship seriously and became a City Council Member serving the city of Natalia.
A memorial will be held at the Natalia church of Christ, 304 Pearson, Natalia on Thursday, February 13 at 7 pm. If you would like to honor Peggy’s memory in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Natalia church of Christ, PO Box 209, Natalia, TX 78059 or a charity of your choice.
