Saul G. Perez, age 72, of Devine, Texas, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 26, 2022. He passed away in San Antonio, Texas peacefully with his family by his side.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Donato & Angelita (Gutierrez) Perez; Sister Naomi P. Jass, Brother Guadalupe Perez; Nephews Benito Perez, Jr. and Jesse Lopez, Jr; Niece Syliva Jass.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Perez of Devine, Texas; Daughters Marina, Maria & Joann Solis; Sons Isaac & Cesar Joe Solis; Grandchildren Bobby, Aliza, Ethan, Angelita, Isaac Jr, Isaiah, Alana, Alina, Sabrina & Ezra Solis; Brothers Arturo Perez (Nancy) of San Antonio, Texas, Eliseo Perez (Mary), Monseis Perez, Thomas Perez (Rosa) and Don Perez, all of Devine, Texas; Sisters Elva Delgado of San Antonio, Texas and Yolanda Sanchez (Arturo) of Devine, Texas; Numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
Saul was born on April 3, 1949, in Moore, Texas. He graduated from Devine High School in 1969. He served his country (1969-1972) in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He also served in the US National Guard. He worked and retired as a government civil service employee at Kelly AFB and went on to own and operate Perez Tire Shop in Devine for 20 years.
Saul was a man of great faith. He loved the Lord wholeheartedly. His favorite scripture was Psalms 27:1. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He will be remembered for his laughter, humor, his kindness and generosity. He will be forever loved and missed.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The family will notify family and friends when a service is scheduled.
