Robert Andrew Duffy, of Devine, passed away on November 28, 2023, at the age of 86. He was born September 21, 1937, in Jersey City, New Jersey to Andrew Duffy and Doris Winkleman Duffy.
Robert joined the U.S Navy in 1956 and later transferred to the U.S. Marine Corps where he would specialize in aviation mechanics. He would complete his service in 1962 -but would remain a loyal and faithful supporter of the Marine Corps his entire life.
Robert would go on to become an electrician for the I.B.E.W Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union where he would travel and often relocate to other states for work with his family. He retired in 2001- with over 40 years of service- and returned to the family home in Devine, Texas in 2004.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jolie Ann and Kevin Lazier of Hondo; granddaughter, Katie L. Davis and husband Jonathan; great-grandson, Landon Davis; niece, Amy Watson and family; nephew, Art Carisoza; cousin, Richard Duffy and wife Nancy.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Doris Duffy; wife, Cecilia Duffy; daughter, Michelle (Duffy) Pearson; and siblings, Jack Duffy and Eileen Carisoza.
A Memorial Service with military honors will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2023, at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Services will conclude at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made in Robert’s memory to Marine Corps Toys for Tots, Methodist Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, or the charity of your choice.
