The City of LaCoste hired Darrell Rawlings to replace retiring City Administrator George Salzman at the January 18, 2022 council meeting.
His work history is as follows:
Rawlings is a 1997 Graduate of Devine High School, a member of the Devine VFD: 1997 – 2000, Devine EMS (EMT) 1998-2005.
He worked at the Devine Police Department as a Telecommunications Officer from 1998 to 1999.
Rawlings switched over to the City of Devine as Code Enforcement Officer / Fire Marshal / Building Inspector / Floodplain Administrator for the next 16 years 1999 – Aug 2015.
Next he worked for the City of Castroville, Building Official – Aug 2015 – Oct 2017.
Four years ago he was hired as the City of La Coste, Administrative Assistant / Floodplain Administrator from November 2017 to December 2021.
He was hired on January 18, 2022 as the City Administrator/ City Secretary for the City of LaCoste at their council meeting.
Rawlings also worked as a Third Party Fire Inspector for the City of Hondo (Plan Reviews & Fire Inspections) August 2012 – 2016.
He is still currently a Private Fire Inspector 2012-Present. And he is currently maintaining Certifications as Registered Code Enforcement Officer (TDLR), Certified Fire Inspector (TCFP), and Certified Floodplain Manager (TFMA).
