Police suspect arson in recent fire

 

A fire completely destroyed a garage on Hwy. 132 in the early-morning hours of August 2.

August 2–Fire crews and Devine Police were dispatched to 301 N. Teel in Devine this past Tuesday for a 2-story building on fire. The building which burned to the ground, had no electrical, leading authorities to suspect foul play.
The Bexar County Fire Marshalls were called in to assist in the investigation, with the aid of their accelerant-detecting canine.
Police believe the building, which is located behind the home on the property, was deliberately set on fire.
Devine PD has identified a suspect and did get an arrest warrant for the suspected arsonist this past Monday, August 7. Police say a previous tenant of the home had recently been evicted.
