Last Friday night, the Lytle Pirates played the Poth Pirates in non-district play. It was a tough game, but as Coach Tevino states “Our team showed a lot of grit and played extremely hard.”
“On offense, we saw some steady play from Senior WR Damien Garcia and Senior Utility Back Daniel Aguirre.”
“On defense, Freshman safety Luke Estrada led our team in tackles with 8 (5 Solo, 3 assists). Sophomore defensive tackle Mario Diaz had 6 tackles (4 solo, 2 assists, 3 TFLs) and Senior linebackers Josh Del Toro and Emanuel Garcia both had 4 solo tackles and 1 sssist each.
“Up front, Senior DL Cort Haltom had 5 tackles (3 solo, 2 assists) and Senior DL Kasen Boyd registered his first sack of the season,” Coach Tevino stated.
The Pirates will travel to La Pryor on Friday, September 10th, to take on the Bulldogs in non-district play. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm.
