Pauline M. Altman Morrow

Pauline M. Altman Morrow, of Castroville, passed away on November 2, 2020 at the age of 99. Pauline was born on February 15, 1921 in St. Meinrad, Indiana to Joseph and Catherine Altman.
She spent her youth in St. Meinrad growing up in a large family. She had eight siblings. From 1939 to 1941, Pauline worked as a telephone operator at the St. Meinrad Telephone Company. She also worked at Allison’s Engineering and at the Indiana Bell Telephone Company in Indianapolis. During WWII, she worked at a plant supplying pistons to the military to keep the war machinery supplied. In 1950, Pauline moved to Texas where she joined the civilian work force at Lackland and Kelly Air Force Bases as an IBM Operator.
In 1961, Pauline married John Clifton Morrow of San Antonio, Texas. After their marriage they settled in Castroville, Texas. They were married fifty-seven years. Pauline belonged to St. Louis Catholic Church, St. Ann’s Society, and also taught Religion Education Classes. Pauline and John enjoyed going to dances and traveling to different states especially to Laughlin in Nevada and sometimes to Eagle Pass, Texas. Pauline also loved going to dances. She loved her pet quail, LBJ, who was hatched from an incubator. The quail lived with her for years.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen Ann Triana and Brenda Kay Morrow both of Castroville; grandchild, Sarah Anne Triana; sister-in-law, Norene Altman of Florida; stepsons, Johnny Morrow (Sharon) and Randy Morrow (Rhonda); step-grandchildren, Johnny, Katie, Ryan and Lindsey as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Paulinewas preceded in death by her husband, John Clifton Morrow on March 25, 2018; her parents and eight siblings.
Public Visitation will be Friday, November 6, 2020 beginning at 9:00 am at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home with The Rosary recited at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery Garden Mausoleum in Castroville, Texas.
