NJHS Lady Mustangs face off against Cotulla

7th Grade A Team
The Lady Mustangs’ 7th Grade A team won two close sets against Cotulla on Monday night. After winning the first set 25-20, Cotulla played better defense and the second set was tight. The Lady Mustangs pulled out the win in the end 25-23. Anaya Jones was the top server with 6 aces.
They now hold a 3-1 record for the season and will head to D’Hanis next Monday.
7th B Team
It has been a tough season for the Lady Mustang’s 7th Grade B team. Having to play against a time restriction, they were dealt their third tie of the season after playing Cotulla on Monday night. They lost their first set 23-25 and came back strong in the second to control the set and win 25-16. Sarah Kanaguisco was the top server in this game. They now hold a 1-0-3 season record.
8th A team
The Lady Mustang’s 8th Grade A team had to fight hard against Cotulla this past Monday. After winning the first set 25-20, Cotulla rallied and aggressively took the second set 25-23. But it wasn’t over for Natalia with a final set to 15, Natalia was the first to reach that mark winning 15-11.
Addison Crowther and Angie Solis were the top servers for the Lady Mustangs with three aces each. With a record of 2-1 they will face D’Hanis next Monday.
8th B team
The 8th Grade B team from Natalia won their first game of the season this past Monday after facing Cotulla. They worked hard in the timed game to win 21-16 and then even harder to beat Cotulla 24-20. This win puts them at 1-2 for the season. Kiara Garcia served 4 aces, Sierra Vasquez 3 aces, and Brianna Rios 4 aces.
