NJH Mustangs fall to Nixon-Smiley

The combined Natalia JH Mustangs played their final road game of the season last Thursday in Nixon. Although Natalia played pretty well defensively, they couldn’t get over the edge offensively falling to the home squad Mustangs 6-14.
“We played a big 8th grade squad from Nixon and we were out-sized by size and speed, but that didn’t stop our kids from giving it all they had,” the NJH Staff said. “We controlled the ball the entire 1st quarter allowing Luis Buentello to get into the end zone at the beginning of the 2nd quarter.”
Nixon-Smiley scored their first touchdown of the game in the 4th quarter before scoring their second as time expired to defeat the Mustangs.
Natalia’s final game will be this coming Thursday at 5:00 p.m. as the combined Stangs will host a combined Falls City Beaver squad at 5:00 p.m. at Mustang Stadium.
