NJH Mustangs drop home finale versus Falls City

The season came to an end for the Natalia Jr. High combined Mustangs at the hands of a very talented Falls City Beaver squad. Natalia battled their hearts out, but fell in a hard fought 8-22 contest.
“This game was very impressive on both sides of the ball, as we battled every second of the game,” Coach Ruben Garcia said. “Luis Buentello was able to score a touchdown right after FC first score and we took an 8-6 lead into the half.”
Unfortunately, Falls City took over in the second half scoring two additional touchdowns en route to their victory over Natalia.
“These young men worked extremely hard all season and it involved a commitment to come in at 5:45 a.m. Monday-Wednesday rain or shine,” Garcia said. “These young men learned a lot through this experience, especially combining into one team for half of the season. It shows that grades and school should come before sports, because not only does it affect you individually, but also your team. Again, we are extremely proud of these young men and the growth shown.”
