It’s here! This week is the final stretch and preparation for the 2019 Natalia Bluebonnet Festival. The carnival is currently setting up and should be open for business the evening of Thursday, March 28th. There are a couple of brand-new rides, picked up straight from the factory, so head on over to check them out! Be sure to take a thrilling ride on the Starship 3000, the Cyclone Swing or the Mini Scrambler.
The Bluebonnet Parade starts promptly at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 30th. Parade Participants should be in place no later than 9:45 a.m. to have a chance to place in the competition. Remember, our theme is always EVERYTHING Bluebonnets!
The line up will be on FM 471 near Loves Travel Center. At 11 a.m. they will start from there on the route east on FM 471 until it reaches State Highway 132 where it turns left to progress south on 132 to the south end of town. As quick as possible, everyone will scramble back to the Little League park to participate in the festival proper.
Come out and support our 2019 Bluebonnet Court! King Christian Contreras, Queen Juliana Sanchez and Princess Madisyn Loza will be riding high on this year’s freshly decorated float. They are excited and ready to represent Natalia this year in a variety of community festivals and parades.
The Grand Marshall for this year’s 2019 Annual Bluebonnet Parade will be Mr. Bill Taylor from KENS5! We are excited to have him with us this year!
The festival will be held at the Natalia Little League Complex on Hwy 132 in Natalia. Entrance will be at the gate off of Hwy 132 – look for the little yellow footbridge. Admission is $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children. We have a variety of food vendors participating this year, a raffle and Silent Auction as well. The Silent Auction will be from 1 pm to 5 pm, so stop by to bid on your favorite item! The City of Natalia and Natalia Veteran’s Memorial Library will be hosting the soda/water booth, and alcoholic beverages are BYOB (Bring Your Own BEER) this year. No GLASS containers will be permitted on the property, and ice chests are limited to a 15” by 20” size. Bleachers will be available for seating, but feel free to bring your own chair.
This year’s festival music line-up is going to be spectacular! On deck we have Tejano Country, The Chris Saucedo Band, The Jeremy Egg Band, Matt Hawk and Larry Mercer. Check out their fan pages and music on our official Facebook page.
We would like to thank our many sponsors, especially Medina Electric Cooperative, HEB, Town and Country Mobile Home Park, The City of Natalia and ACI. We would also like to thank the many volunteers that have helped bring the festival to fruition. Thanks go out to the City of Natalia workers, The Natalia Public Library Foundation Board, the Natalia Bluebonnet Festival Committee members and ALL the Community Volunteers. Without your help the festival wouldn’t get off the ground.
