SNICKERS – The Perfect Candy Bar and a Good Horse

Blessed with a sweet tooth since childhood, I have a fondness for Snickers candy bars.  A Snickers bar was always the ideal treat to pack along on various adventures.  I remember bike rides with my mom and brother as a boy and our lunch breaks under the pines on dusty Garboni Road, always a Snickers bar for dessert.  And trick-or-treating on Halloween. A Snickers bar was the most prized of your haul.

Meet Colley…

Colley is a very energetic and adventurous 13 year old who is very loving and caring. His favorite subject at school is physical education, as he enjoys being active.
 When it comes to extra-curricular activities, Colley is a big fan of playing sports, with basketball and football topping his list of favorites, as he is looking forward to next season.
 When not on the court or field, he can be the life of the room, as he likes to tell jokes and make the people around him laugh and smile. Colley likes to read, with his favorite author being Rick Roidan. He also loves to attend summer camps.
 Colley’s enjoys getting the opportunity to be out and about, to play a game of miniature golf and eat out at his favorite restaurant (Golden Corral)
 Colley dreams of having a mom and dad who enjoy playing and watching football with him. He would also like to have siblings, specifically a brother and sister of any age that he can grow up and create new memories with. Colley does not have any current pets but would like to have a dog one day.

1:05AM – Found bicycle in men’s bathroom at Devine City Park.
11:23AM – Complainant on Hondo Ave. called in reference to an 18 wheeler broken down in lane. Truck removed from traffic. Officer stood by for traffic control.


17:31PM – Complainant on Malone Dr. advised music was too loud.
Dec. 30
0:05AM – Complainant on Malone Dr called with noise complaint. Party taken inside.
12:35PM – Found brown bi-fold wallet on Teel Dr.
Dec. 31
0:36AM – Observed open door to a vehicle in parking lot on Teel Dr. Located an unlocked door to building. Made contact with key holder who made location.
15:35PM – Complainant on Teel Dr advised she was assaulted on 12/30/23 in county. Notified MCSO.
19:12PM – Traffic lights flashing red on all directions on Windy Knoll Dr. TXDot notified.
21:38PM – Complaint of fireworks on Dubose Dr. Unable to locate.
Jan. 1
0:11AM – Fireworks being popped in area of Dubose Dr. Unable to locate.
0:30AM – Officer dispatched to Libold Dr for disturbance between female complainant and male. Complainant had visible injury on neck.
Jan. 2
7:48AM – Report that container with air pressure and hoses feel off a truck on Hondo Ave. Equipment was heavy and had to be moved with a bobcat. Officer stood by for traffic control.
12:35PM – Toyota Highlander parked in handicapped space struck by unknown vehicle on IH 35 S.
14:16PM – Officer dispatched to IH 35 S for gray car hit while parked. Witness provided license plate information.
23:30PM – Officer dispatched to Adams Ave for person who had fallen approximately 15 feet inside building. Transported to University Hospital.
Jan. 3
10:33AM – Complainant on IH 35 S called regarding kids riding bikes in store. After being asked not to do so, they became upset and belligerent. Subjects departed prior to officer’s arrival.
12:26PM – Officer dispatched to Monticello Cir for elderly resident outside yelling. Resident had locked themselves out of home. Officer was given permission to gain entrance into residence. All okay.
12:47PM – Officer dispatched to Teel Dr for minor accident.
14:14PM – Complainant on Herring Ave advised male subject in a white pickup came onto her property and was looking around. Complainant approached subject who stated he had a tree trimming business; complainant asked for a business card and was given one.
15:50PM – Complainant called in reference to a stalled vehicle in traffic lane on St Hwy 1173. Vehicle was removed off roadway prior to officer’s arrival.
16:19PM – Complainant on Fullerton Dr called in reference to 3 male subjects that appeared to be taking things from property. Officers made contact with males who stated they had permission to be there.
17:36PM – Officer dispatched to IH 35 S for theft of $38.12. Subject cited and released.
Jan. 4
13:45PM – Complainant on Howell Ave called in reference to vehicle parked in front of residence with dark tinted windows. All okay.

Lytle

Monday, January 01
7:50 AM – Main St. @ McDonald St. – Officer responded to a report of the traffic lights malfunctioning. They were working and had a long delay.
9:05 AM – FM 3175 – Officer spoke to a female residing outside the city limits of Lytle regarding a lost apricot
poodle.

Famous in a Small Town

Cheyenne McKinney (5 years old of Devine) won Peewee Shomanship at the FFA Prospect show with her hamp, Daisy this December, and she looks plenty happy about it! The Medina County Jr Livestock Show is coming up on Saturday, January 27 from 10-2 (silent auction of showcase projects) and the Premium Sale at 11am. There will also be a Yearling Colt Sale Jan 26th at 8am, and Commerical Heifer Sale January 26th at 5pm. Look for more info in the coming weeks.

The Most Epic Santa Picture of the Year Award goes to Bentley and Emery Salazar of Devine while visiting Devine Acres. Hold on tight Santa!

His family in Lytle and Devine proudly wishes to congratulate Airman Austin DuBose, who graduated from Basic Training this December. Thank you for your service. DuBose is a recent graduate of Lytle High School.
