Mustangs take on state-ranked Pleasanton

Coltin Richardson gets low on defense.

The Natalia Mustangs faced the Pleasanton Eagles on December 17th on the road and came back after a 23-96 loss to a top 20 team in the state of Texas. The Mustangs fought hard the whole game and put up their best defense.
“We struggled on both ends of the court as Pleasanton would run away with a 96-23 victory,” Coach Justin Welsh said. “They are an extremely talented team that has a chance to play into March this season. Offensively, they are very deep and their guard play is really good. They can score from anywhere on the floor at any time.
“Defensively, their pressure was too much for us to handle which forced us into 32 turnovers that led 40 transition points. We have to do a better job of handling pressure but we will continue to work and get better as we head into the 2nd half of the season.”
