“Our kids are the hardest working kids I have ever been around”
Mustang Football is expecting around 60-65 kids to come out this season. New Head Coach and Athletic Director Jason Reynolds said they will carry 2 teams this season, a JV and a Varsity.
“On day one our energy and effort was through the roof! I felt that our kids did a great job taking what we did over the summer and were able to just continue the work that we have been putting in since the spring,” Coach Reynolds said.
“Defensively, I was very impressed with how fast our kids adapted to our scheme,” Coach Reynolds adds. “Offensively our kids practiced with a lot of tempo, and I loved the amount of communication and accountability I was seeing between players.”
“Our kids are the hardest working kids I have ever been around, and it was evident on day one with how they practiced,” Reynolds said. “Our main areas of improvement is our youth and inexperience. That will only get better with game reps, but I’m excited to see the growth from week to week.”
“Our base offense is multiple/ power spread,” Reynolds said. “Our base defense is 3-4.”
“It is truly an honor and blessing to be able to lead the Natalia Mustangs. I had to pinch myself multiple times on day 1 because it is just such a surreal feeling. I’m excited to see the growth from our kids and coaches as the year goes on. The AGNB mentality originated in Natalia back in 2018-2020 football seasons, and I’m excited to see this next group of kids embrace that same mindset. I am thankful for this community, admin team, kids and coaches for the opportunity to lead the Mustangs! #AGNB”
If you recall, this is Coach Jason Reynolds first football season. He replaced longtime Coach and Athletic Director Ilyan Martinez, who is now leading his hometown of Floresville.
