The Mustang Band took competed against 5 other schools this weekend, and took 1st place overall at the Cotulla Roundup competition this past Saturday, September 29. 
They also took awards for Best Brass Line, Best Woodwind Line, Best Colorguard, and Best Drum Major.
The band is led by drum majors Jayden Garcia and Jose Constante, and Director Sergio Mendez, Vanessa Delgado-Assistant Director, John DeLeon-Colorguard Director, and David Martinez-Drumline Director.
“We’ve had four back to back wins at this competition,” said Band Director Sergio Mendez. “These kids are dedicated to our program and it shows. They’ve accomplished a lot throughout the past few years. Our show this year is a nice piece about the good times in life, the bad times, and pushing through it all together.”
The Mustangs are headed to two more competitions this weekend starting at 8:45 at Hero Stadium (Roosevelt HS), and another competition at 2:30 at Harlandale Memorial Stadium.
