Moore Community Center planning Trunk or Treat and Thanksgiving plate distribution

A special Thank You to our residents Butch and Claudia Sturdevant, Bobby and Johnnie Evans, Laura Dominquez and Cassie Brewer who showed up to lend a neighborly hand in the painting of the Moore Community Center. Thank you also to JD Earls and his connection over at Parker’s Building Supply in Pearsall who donated the paint and Rosa Cubriel for her donation of supplies. We have completed the main area and will tackle the restrooms and storage area another time. We will keep everyone posted so they can come out and help.
The Moore VFD will be passing out candy and hosting a trunk or treat event behind the station. Residents wishing to participate can set up and distribute candy between 6-8 pm for the kiddos. Everyone is invited to come out and celebrate on Halloween. There is plenty of wide-open space behind the fire station where residents can set up to distribute candy.
Plans are underway for a Thanksgiving Plate distribution for the elderly. Anyone wishing to contribute towards the preparation of the meals or if you know somebody who you think should receive a plate in the Moore area contact Laura Dominquez or Rosa Cubriel. Additional details will follow as the plans are finalized so feel free to contribute more ideas as well. Next meeting is Wednesday, November 4th at 7pm.
MOORE SENIOR BOX distribution is scheduled for Tuesday, October 27th. A big Thank you Jerry Moya for volunteering your time and trailer for the box distribution from the Food Bank. It is still not too late to get enrolled in this food distribution program for the elderly. We ask you still spread the word so all qualified seniors can benefit from this program. Anyone wishing to sign up can call 830-931-1740 for information. Additionally, anyone wishing to receive commodities should call 830-931-1740 to be added to the list. The distribution times vary so add your name to be included for notification of distributions.
Currently due to the pandemic, anyone can receive commodities. However, only two families per car during distribution so that everyone may have chance to benefit from the program.
