Mohr brings home the Gold from State

Madilynne Mohr is a three year State Qualifier, two years as part of a clarinet ensemble and one year as a soloist, her senior year where she brought home a One and earned a gold medal for her performance.

It was a busy and successful Spring Semester all the way to the end – and beyond! This year the Warhorse Band had several students experience success on the State level. It has been such a difficult year for everyone between several unique Covid protocols, and even many events being cancelled throughout the year. However the Spring Semester allowed our students to shine all the way! We had (3) Solos and and Ensemble advance to the UIL State Solo & Ensemble competition – and this year was very difficult because of “virtual” requirements. Despite some technology issues, we still managed to have Soloist Madilynne Mohr receive a First Division rating and bring home the gold medal.
Mohr performed a: Class One Clarinet Solo “Rhapsody for Clarinet” by Osborne, to win a Division 1 at State- and top honors! “It was great”, Mohr responded when asked how it felt to finally get that One. “I was so excited and pleased. Band has been so much fun and finally get the gold at State was so fun”.
She is the daughter of Jason and Stephanie Mohr. “We are so proud of Madi and all the hard work she put in to make it to State and bring home the gold! We have enjoyed watching her lead the band as a Drum Major and all the outstanding awards that she won over the years. And now we are looking forward to watching her perform and further her music education at UTSA this fall,” said the Mohrs.
