Meals on Wheels volunteers needed 1-2 hours a week

“Guaranteed to make your heart happy.”

Could you spare 1-2 hours? Meals on Wheels program is looking for volunteers who can drive a route for approximately 1-2 hours delivering meals and a welcome smile to senior citizens in Medina County.

In all, each week, Meals on Wheels serves about 215 homebound residents in Devine, Castroville, Natalia, Lytle, LaCoste, as well as Quihi, Dunlay, Yancey, Hondo, and D’Hanis.
Routes are broken down by area, so for example, if you would like to volunteer on the Devine/Natalia/Lytle routes those routes are run on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The Hondo route is run on Monday, and the Castroville/LaCoste/D’Hanis route is run on Tuesday.
Volunteer Myra Waters, of Devine, shared the joy this program has brought her. “Meals on Wheels is the perfect volunteer work for me. It feels good to help others without a big time commitment. They always manage to find someone to cover for me when I need to miss. I look forward to seeing my friends/clients each week, guaranteed to make your heart happy.” You can learn more by calling 830-741-6160.
